From National S’mores Day and National Ice Cream Day, to National Burger Day and National Candy Day, there are tons of wacky national holidays that you might not even know about! For all of us at the Paso Robles Inn, however, we love one holiday mooore than all the rest—Cow Appreciation Day, typically celebrated on July 15th. We’ll take any excuse to celebrate the Paso Robles Inn’s udderly adorable mascot, Clarabelle the Wine Cow, so check out the ideas below on how to show your appreciation for the animals that have brought us cold milk, delicious ice cream, and adorable photo opportunities.
The Steakhouse at the Paso Robles Inn offers delicious premium Angus Choice or Prime cuts of steak that have been hand trimmed and aged precisely for juicy tenderness. Any other day of the year, we’d encourage you to enjoy our nightly steak specials—but not on Cow Appreciation Day! Chef Ryan’s brand new menu features clean eating dishes like Pan Roasted Organic Chicken served with roasted spaghetti squash and steamed broccoli, Coconut-Lime Infused Red Quinoa, and other vegetarian options that are a tasty alternative to our signature steaks. With these fresh hip choices, The Steakhouse is the best of both worlds, infusing the new with the old and always maintaining traditional service.
Find the CowParade Cows
For eight months, CowParade took over San Luis Obispo County, featuring a herd of 101 120-pound, fiberglasss cows at a variety of businesses and organizations until they were auctioned off for charity last May. CowParade SLO’s designated charities included ARTS Obispo, The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County, and the California Mid-State Fair Heritage Foundation—aligning with the Central Coast’s focus on the arts, sustainability, and agriculture. Clarabelle was created to showcase SLO County’s growing wine industry from “grape to bottle.” As a sponsor for Clarabelle the Wine Cow, Clarabelle will remain in front of our lobby for years to come and the Paso Robles Inn will donate the money raised by Clarabelle to benefit the Children’s Museum in Paso Robles. Now, you can visit the cows currently remaining on display and snap a selfie with them as you celebrate Cow Appreciation Day! Use #CowParadeSLO or #ClarabelleWineCow so we can like and share your photos!
Sip on a Moo-Tini
The chocolate milk you loved as a child is all grown up! Visit Cattlemen’s Lounge for a signature cocktail created by our very own mixologist, Danielle Zeidler. Each of our signature drinks are based on the history of the Paso Robles Inn so Danielle has concocted a brand new drink inspired by Clarabelle the Wine Cow—the Moo-Tini! Although Clarabelle loves wine, our Moo-Tini is made with Absolut Vanilla Vodka, Godiva white chocolate liqueur and Frangelico, shaken and served in a chocolate swirled martini glass, making it the perfect Instagram opportunity. The Moo-Tini is just one more way to share the stories of some of the characters like Clarabelle that have played in role in making this hotel historic over the years, so come drink in the history of Paso Robles with other drinks like Marilyn’s Kiss and The Dirty James!
