Parades, concerts, and fireworks, oh my! Independence Day is only a few days away, and everyone at Martin Resorts is excited for some Fourth of July fun! We’ve compiled a list of some of the best local celebrations happening over the long weekend, so take a look, pick your favorites, grab your essentials, and plan accordingly! Avila Beach Parades

On the morning of the Fourth, take a scenic drive out to the Avila Beach Community Center for a pancake breakfast and doggie parade on the Promenade. Breakfast is $7 for adults and $3 for kids under age 6, so get it while it’s hot at 8 a.m. Afterward, stick around until 11:30 for the most adorable parade around as cute pups strut their stuff at the Avila Beach Civic Center. But the fun doesn’t end there—at noon boats will line up at the Cal Poly Pier to set sail for the San Luis Yacht Club’s 4th of July Boat Parade!

Live Music in Paso Robles

Visit the Paso Robles Horse Park at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 1st for Paso Pops, a fun event featuring a 90-minute performance by the San Luis Obispo Symphony and Youth Symphony. Pieces to be performed include patriotic songs like “America the Beautiful.” Bring your own picinic or grab a bite from some of the Central Coast’s best food trucks and caterers like Brat Shop, G. Brothers Smokehouse, Kettlecorn, and more! From 5-7:30 p.m., enjoy a walk-around wine tasting featuring local wineries before the show starts at 8. Then, see Paso truly “pop” with a fireworks finale!

Pismo Beach Fireworks

Pismo’s Annual Fourth of July Celebration begins at 10 a.m. on July fourth, ending after fireworks at 10 p.m. General admission is free of charge. Throughout the day, there will be art, crafts, food, and music to keep the whole family busy. Vendors will be located in the Pier Parking lot and on the Pier Promenade. Visitors are also able to watch fireworks from the pier for $25 with a reservation. This hugely popular event can be tricky to navigate, so check out our tips & tricks for an easy, breezy Independence Day celebration in beautiful Pismo Beach.

Bluegrass Freedom Festival in Atascadero

Starting at 4 p.m., enjoy sounds from Snap Jackson and the Knock on Wood Players at the first ever 4th of July Bluegrass Freedom Festival at Atascadero Lake Park. With a beer & vendor garden, kayak & paddleboard races, beer & wine service, games, a barbecue dinner and more, you don’t want to miss this fun, new event!
