Making it halfway through the work week calls for a celebration, right? Right. Wednesdays are one of the best days of the week—we’re a couple steps closer to a weekend full of #CentralCoasting fun, and of course, it’s Wine Wednesday. There’s no better place to spend this midweek holiday than the Central Coast’s Napa-status wine country, so we’ve chosen some of our favorite spots to grab a glass and unwind to share with you. After a well-spent Wine Wednesday, the weekend will be so close you can taste it! Don’t forget to show us where you’re sipping by posting on Instagram with #CentralCoasting, and you could win a free 1-night stay at a Martin Resorts property!
Calcareous Vineyard: Wine Down Wednesdays
Perched atop one of the highest limestone plateaus in Paso Robles, Calcareous Vineyard is the perfect place to watch a summer sunset dip below the rolling hills of wine country. Fortunately, you can do just that every Wednesday from now until September 27th during their Wine Down Wednesday series because they’re extending their tasting room hours until 8:00 p.m. through the summer months. Sit and enjoy a glass or bottle of your favorite Calcareous wine while listening to live music by a different local musician every week. You can also order from their gourmet wood fired pizza pairing menu from 5:00-8:00 p.m. There are no reservations necessary, so grab a friend and enjoy the scenic drive to the “top of the world.”
Tastes of the Valleys Wine Bar
With over 1,000 wine selections to choose from, Tastes of the Valleys is your one-stop shop for any and all Central Coast wines. A full-service wine bar located in Pismo Beach, Tastes of the Valleys offers wine by the glass, bottle, or wine tasting flight. They’re open from noon until 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, so you won’t feel rushed if you’re stopping by after work for your Wine Wednesday fix. If you find yourself in North County, stop by their Paso Robles location, Taste in the Alley, also open until 9:00 p.m. Their wine cellar has a cool speakeasy feel that is a little difficult to find but very hard to forget. Find them behind Artisan Restaurant on Norma’s Way, the alley connecting Pine Street and Park Street.
Foremost Wine Company
Ignite your passion for food and wine with Foremost’s locally sourced menu and award-winning wine list. A hip farm-to-table restaurant, wine-bar, and lounge all rolled into one, Foremost Wine Co. is the perfect place to grab drinks in downtown San Luis Obispo after a long day at work. Their wine bar and lounge offer a full wine list and a full menu, with Happy Hour running Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Enjoy $5 drink specials and $2 off beer and wine by the glass. On Wine Wednesdays, get 20% off all bottles of wine from 5:00-9:00 p.m. We’ll drink to that!
